Nutraceuticals to prevent and treat flu & coronavirus

The authors of a new paper published in the Progress in Cardiovascular Diseases journal write:

“In light of worldwide concern regarding the recent outbreak of a deadly novel strain of coronavirus in China, it is fortuitous that two recent discoveries point the way to effective nutraceutical measures for potentiating the type 1 interferon response to RNA viruses.”

What’s a nutraceutical? A food or dietary supplement that has nutritional and health benefits. In a nutshell the authors found that some nutraceuticals work well to help your immune system fight RNA-type viruses, like influenza and coronavirus.
